PPP + VB + Pennythreads = Love Triangle

Its time again to show off some more PPP goodies!

Poor Pitiful Pearl, how I love thee... let me count the ways...
One-one thousand! Two-one thousand! Three-one thousand!
(anyone know the reference???)

My newest fav of PPP is this amazing purple and blue plaid flannel oxy. It is fitted, and super cozy. I feel like this was all I needed to be set for fall. In love, need I say more...

And it goes perfect with my new Pennythreads necklace! You must check out Renea's new stuff if you havent, its dynamite! This is the 'Flight of Fancy' necklace but in different colors, she does custom requests! Perfect fall accessory! And she makes earrings to match! Holla!

he he, my little silly pic for PPP!

I was so excited to wear a flannel and leg warmers the other day, but it got so hot I had to take the warmers off. It FELT like fall when we left, but didnt take long to turn back into Texas summer...
The beautiful Shauna herself in her Violet Bella mexican patchwork folk top. And her VB necklace! Is she not gorgeous in this? And of course, little Italia kind of steals the show in this pic! Gosh I cannot get over how cute this little girl is, its insane!
A few more textile cuff bracelets made it into the shop yesterday. The bottom two are already sold, these babies are going fast, so if you see one you like you might want to snag it, they are all one of a kind!

Today's agenda:

1. finish Ruche order
2. finish order for local shop
3. three adorable custom teddy bear tees
4. finishing custom wedding headband
5. emails
6. hopefully maybe start some new things!

Rainy Day

The hurricane has successfully blown its little rain drops all over Bandera for the past two days straight. It is so wet outside, but I love it. Although Im not sure Violet does :)

She has a large pin outside that she stays in during the day that she can roam around in and pretend like she is chasing the deer that are on the other side of the fence. And sit way up in a tree and watch the cars go by (yes she really does this and its ridiculously cute, and she figured it out all by herself). A part of this pin is covered and has a doggie house under that, so usually when it rains, she is okay for a while out there. But the rain snuck up on us this time, and when we came home from the post office yesterday, she saw us drive up and she was wagging her tail at the gate, the one part of the covered area that gets flooded when it rains and makes a huge mud puddle. There she was, looking at us with those puppy eyes, knee deep in mud.

So James went and picked her up and brought her straight into the bathtub and I gave her a bath. It was near impossible to get it all out. It was like mud that stains! I felt so bad bringing her in from all the nasty water only to stick her in a tub of water! Shes not crazy about baths... But she braved it like a champ! Now I keep trying to walk her outside for pee breaks, but she wont go... She is so used to going in her pin. But I dont want to have to do that all again! I guess she will go when she needs to, i hope.

And needless to say, the bathroom was a disaster after this, lol.

And although the rain changed my plans about going to the city, I did still pop over to the antique store and rummage through clothes. I am so excited about this pile of clothes. I dont know if I have ever mentioned it here on my blog, but for many years I have dreamt about opening a store... A coffee shop/ thrift shop/ handmade shop/ bookshop/ music venue. Ha ha. All the things I love. But I know that will never become a reality as long as we are in this town, it just wouldnt fly. So, since my online world has increased with Violet Bella, I am thinking for the time being I can bring into reality online. So I am finally really starting my collection for Violet Bella Vintage!

I have always had a passion for vintage and for the 60s & 70s era. So my main focus will be this time period. It may be a while before this dream becomes a reality, but it is slowly in the works!

*also in the works is something to do with home decor and something to do with a book*
(just to keep you pondering)
And for dinner last night we ordered chinese takeout. It was rainy, I didnt feel like cooking and this just seemed perfect. I got mu shu pork, my favorite that I used to share with my mom everytime. And egg drop soup, yum. And we only got one fortune, so we deemed it both of ours. And really, it is one for everyone, so I wanted to share. So anyone reading this, here is your fortune!
Time to enjoy another rainy day. I love how my house is completely dark on rainy days.

Textile Cuff Bracelets & Headbands

A little update on whats been happening behind the scenes. Ive been working on these new beautiful textile cuff bracelets, and I just adore them. I am wild about them actually. Each one is completely unique and one of a kind. And it has been delightful to put to use little nothing scraps to make a beautiful piece of jewelry. The perfect fall accessory.

Here are a few already in the shop, many more to come!

And there are 3 more colors of the braided headbands coming, these a bit cooler with complimentary felt pieces at the ends. Should be posting these babies sometime this week. Customs available if you are looking for a specific color theme.

Its a rainy day here in Texas, and I think its going to be for several days. Which is fine with me, I love rainy days. Mother Earth loves them too, and she was really thirsty in this part of the country.

Rain reminds me to slow down and reflect. To refill the well by taking a step back. I think today I am not going to stress about working. I am going to go down the street and play thrift at a local antique shop, then later go to the city to visit my brother and Nanna. And not worry about what is not getting done. Which I tend to do alot :)

Laura

Fashion Shoot Trade Offer

My friend Katelyn has put together a really cool project that helps her and you, if you are a designer. She is offering to do a fashion/editorial advertising shoot with about 15 fully edited images for an exchange of the garment, piece of jewelry or what ever it is you sell (fashion wise). This can be a lovely trade, as photo shoots for this sort of thing can be expensive. Not only that, Katelyn has a really unique modern edge with her photography, which I find so refreshing for an advertising perspective.

Here are a few examples of what she did for me in her Violet Bella school girl jumper, which by the way is so flippin cute on her!

Check her out on facebook and etsy. Message her if you are interested!

If anything, go to her blog post and see more images from this shoot along with a really silly interview she gave me! If you want to find out really random quirky things about me :)

Laura

Mini Kitchen Makeover

Here is our new fridge that James parents gave us! I am so in love with it. I had no idea what a difference a fridge could make. It is a huge step up from the one that came with this old house. I can fit so much just in the door of it, its crazy! Im sure everyone was just dying to know that, ha ha.

Anyway, I got all my photos back up and it looks so fresh and new. I love having lots of pics of my mommy on it. Its comforting.

I love the photo of my mom in the middle (the woman with the big white cup). We had so much fun that day at an old coffee shop in town, Full Moon. She loved that big cup, Ill never forget it. She had the prettiest eyes Ive ever seen on a woman.
I put back up our wedding invitation. I love having it around to look at everyday. Which our 3 year anniversary is coming up on the 22nd! Ill finally post some wedding photos!
One of my old paintings sit on top of our Ikea shelf in the kitchen.
I made this for breakfast, speaking of kitchens! James brought me home some roasted hatch chili peppers, oh goodness they are yummy. I sliced them up and re-grilled them a bit, then threw them on top of corn tortillas, a fried egg and some baby swiss cheese. Yummy :)
In one of my next posts I am going to link to where all my goodies I was wearing in the PPP post were from, Im not ignoring your questions!

PEACE,
Laura
