PPP Baseball Oxy & Pizza BBQ

The reason for being MIA the past few days: the common cold.

put me out of work for a few, brought me down and got me emotional, filled my face with snot, and I am ready to say goodbye and farewell.

So finally last night, I put real clothes on, went outside, and enjoyed good company and food. I made home made pizzes and we grilled them on the bbq.

...and the wonderful trade of bartering has welcomed a new adorable addition to my Poor Pitiful Pearl collection. And orange and white baseball oxy. It says 28 on it, and Im 28 years old! I love it. And I broke out my skinny jeans I havent worn in over a year. They dont quite fit so I had to rig them up with a stretchy belt... but you wouldnt have known that if I didnt tell you so :)

Sometimes the only time I can get James smiling in a photo is if I tell him to stand there and smile. But its so worth it b/c he is adorable when he smiles.

Our good friend Christie came home this weekend for our 10 year high school reunion. James and I did not attend. But it was cool hearing her talk about everyone and seeing the pics!

Adorable miss Jen Jen came to our little pizza bbq. I insisted she gave me one smile for the camera (she is camera shy) b/c she looked so adorable last night with her dreads in pony tails and her little beret. Loved it! But then, she always looks adorable.

And Jonny :) Im so glad they have come into our lives. James and I both truly enjoy them.

James picked around on the guitar for a bit. And so did Jonny.

The moon was out for us.

Feels good to be on the other side of this cold. I have spent all morning catching up on orders and packaging. Now for some custom orders that need attending to.

Screenprinting & BBQ

Today has been a pretty nice relaxing day, although it has happened way too fast. James had the day off and we actually didnt have to go grocery shopping or anywhere, so I took the day off with him.

Yesterday we made James first screenprinted tee. We had lots of errors and trials to go through. And even messed up two of our good shirts... oops. so now this one is mine. I had the suggestion to relay the print when it didnt take all the way, and it messed it up and double printed it blurry. You cant really tell unless you are right on it. I cant wait to make our first real ones he can sell! We are waiting on more screens to arrive before we can.

Its been fun designing for them, there are many other designs drawn up, and James has lots of ideas in his head. Its pretty exciting collaborating with him on something. Ive always wanted to do that, and its happening!

We had a little bbq lunch with our good friends Jonny and Jen. The boys had burgers, and Jen and I had hazelnut field crusts from whole foods as burgers. And we made potato wedge fries (thank you Shelley)... And ginger beer!

Jonny. He had the best outfit on today, I should have gotten a better photo.

Beautiful Jen. Im in love with her dreads. Everytime Im around her it makes me want them... For those of you who dont know, Jen is my helper. She has been doing lots of odds and ends things behind the scenes to help Violet Bella out. She is amazing and so sweet. If only everyone could have a piece of her heart, the world would be a better place.

Now, Im going to update the shop with a few more teddy bears :)

Foodie Post: Eggs a la Goldenrod

My nanna called me after seeing this post to tell me the 'real' name of this recipe, ha ha. This recipe may not be the healthiest, but it sure is yummy. This is something my mom used to make when I was little, and its been in the back of my mind to make for a long time. It was so fun to make, probably b/c I remember helping her. Sometimes Im surprised at the things I remember to do that she taught me when I was little. It just comes back like it was yesterday, even though it was like 15 years ago...

I have no idea what you call it, but its eggs and gravy on toast.

You start by hardboiling some eggs. I did 6 for 2 people, and it was a little much.

And make some simple country gravy for topping.

Then cut up your eggs with the whites and yellows separate, the white in cubes, the yellow nice and fine.

Get some awesome whole grain bread and toast it.

Then you just lay your toast down, top it with the white egg, then gravy (a little salt and pepper), and sprinkle with the yellow! Yummy in my tummy!

And of course, pour yourself some orange juice or something in a fun cup, always makes it better to use a cup you love.

I had no idea it was possible...

The reason I started making clothes was b/c I could never find things that were really 'me'... until I met Shauna of Poor Pitiful Pearl. So now I basically make clothes for everyone else, and I live in PPP, its almost silly.

James and I took Violet on a little drive the morning, she is loving this weather. I thought her face looked cute in this shot.

Hope everyone has a wonderful evening. Ive been buried in teddy bears all day. But I did allow myself a bit of time hooping and I jammed to some great music all day long.

Im having a love affair with Bayside's acoustic album. I cant stop listening to it.
