Happy Halloween! For the first time in years, I'm feeling a bit blue on Halloween. I take that back, last year I did b/c it was my first year without my dad... Halloween was his favorite holiday (as well as mine). But this year, I guess b/c I have so many new raw emotions going on inside me, I really don't feel it. I might not dress up tonite, for the first time in... uh, my whole life! I'm just not sure. I feel like such a debbie downer lately. Boo... So, I thought I'd share my costumes from the past 3 years. And (if) I happen to end up dressing up tonite, then I'll be back with more... I hope everyone enjoys their evening, and of course stays safe!
2009 - Sugar Skull
(This year seems to be the year of the sugar skull, I've seen this costume everywhere this year!)
I waited tables in this costume and had a blast.
2010 - The Bird Keeper
2011 - Gypsy Fortune Teller
Last year, I felt super blue on Halloween and didn't dress up (I also posted pictures of costumes past!). I'm feeling a little blue this year too. Wish you could come over and we could just drink wine and talk! I love all of your costumes from previous years - beautiful!
ReplyDeleteoh melissa, me too love... me too.
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable in all of these! I'm glad you're not pressuring yourself to dress up if you're not up for it. Wishing you a nurturing Halloween night.

I LOVE all of your costumes! I was a sugar skull last year! I did a post like this today too. :)
ReplyDeleteawww, i know that feeling. remember to luxuriate in taking the year off, if you decide to do so. you can still celebrate Samhain in your own way with a private ceremony (key words: gratitude and ghosts!) and use this evening to connect with the people you love who have passed to the other side....papmer yourself and drink tea, take a bath and breath as though each moment is a sacred. xoxox loving you.
ReplyDeleteI love your past Halloween costumes, So creative! I also love your honesty. Glad I stumbled upon your blog today. I'm not really dressing up, but that's because I'm working all day/night. I hope you find some brightness in this day and have a lovely evening!
ReplyDeleteI love your 2010 costume!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're more into the holiday this year, even as a way to honor your dad :)

ReplyDeletelove all your past costumes. very creative. and don't worry about this year--i didn't dress up either. life gets busy and tiring. but it doesn't mean you're done with it forever. <3
ReplyDeleteI love all of your costumes! My favorite is the bird keeper. SO stylish. But you really are such a glamour-puss as a fortune teller. And I agree, the sugar skull thing is in this year. I also did the sugar skull thing in 2009, though. Hopefully you can eat some candy and feel better tonight.
