Craft Supplies and Giveaway Update

Time to let our little friend go.

I let her stay on the porch last night because it was rainy. I realized she could not fly because half of one side of her wings had been torn off. So this morning, it was no longer wet outside, and the sun was even shining! So I put her in my neighbors bushes, which are low to the ground, so she can crawl around and still be in nature. She probably only had about a day left to her life, since they only live a few days. {which by the way, I think its so ironic that they live in coccoon form for so long to only live for a few days as a beautiful butterfly} I contemplated carrying her with me today, but Im glad I didnt, b/c our day got busy! Plus I decided that was really only gratification on my part and would be taking her away from her natural elements...so I let her go.

She danced on my scarf for a minute before though!

I went to the city to visit with my nanna today. Thinking we would just have some quiet time, it ended up an all day shopping marathon. Which was kind of fun b/c I never go shopping anymore, that word hardly exists in my vocabulary it seems. I could of bought a million things for myself at Target, but I refrained. I stuck to crafting items and Xmas supplies...

Here are the goodies I got!

I am going to learn to knit or crochet, so I got some amazing mustard green threads!
-some really cute bird and cage wrapping paper
-some nice tissue paper for xmas and orders
-new clear baggies for orders
-pink paper for my tags in my local shop
-2 pairs of fancy scissors (on sale)
-1 handmade stamp
-hole puncher for my calendar
-necklace clasps
-ribbon (just for the heck of it)

  3. Such gorgeous finds!!! I always have so much trouble picking out thread colors. Too many! I found an amazing shop online tho! (they even sent me a whole pack of free thread with my order) We don't have any crafty shops nearby so it can come in handy. Anyway, that is just the sweetest pic of you with the butterfly on your scarf. I picked up some yarn yesterday too, and a little "how to crochet" book. We'll see what happens! hehe
    Happy Sunday to you!!!

  4. I have a fluttterby story to share. My daughter Ashleigh was a freshman in highschool and had a best friend Nicole. My husband and I had just divorced and I moved into this tiny one bedroom apartment. I tried to make it feel like home for Ashleigh & my other daugher Mekenzie. Nicole was like my third daughter. She spent so many nights at our tiny home and we loved her. She would make you smile, she made us all happy during this sad time. Nicole loved butterflys. We would tell her they are flutterbys, not butterflys, because they flutter around you to say hello and then they go bye bye. Well, Nicole was very adventerous. She called one night to ask if Ashleigh could go to the senior party in the mountains. I told her absoultly not and where was her mom because she should not let you go, you girls are freshmans. Her mom had just remarried and her older sister was watching her. We ended the phone call and I told her I would come get her and she should stay with us. She would not listen. The next morning changed our lives forever. Nicole had died in a car wreck coming back that night. She was with 3 other boys. One of the other boy's passed away as well. She was the only sober person in that car that night. Ashleigh had a terrible (we all did) time accepting this. We were up at the high school that afternoon gathering with all of her friends. Ashleigh and I were sitting under a tree just talking, crying when all of the sudden a butterfly came fluttering by Ashleigh, gently landing on her shoulder. She sat there gracefully watching Ashleigh's big tear drops. Then in a wink of an eye she was gone. Ashleigh looked at me and smiled and I too, as we knew at that moment it was Nicole, letting Ashleigh know she loved her and that she was in a better place. We both were grateful for that moment and the flutterby, for it brought us peace. Nicole donated her heart, lungs and her liver. She saved three peoples lives. May you rest in Peace my dear Nicole. And the sweet flutterby.
Thank you for letting me share that with you.
