Fourth of July weekend

Gosh, this is a late post, but I accidentally deleted all of these photos from my card, and with a little help from a friend, I was able to recover them! Most of them anyways...

I lost the ones from my actual 4th of July, but we went back out to our friend's house the next day to finish our celebration, b/c the night of we had to leave early b/c James worked the next morning. So glad we did, we had a fabulous time just chilling with the family.

James found a beebee gun and was just happy as a clam with it. They shot up some cans, boys... I actually used to love shooting a beebee gun with my grandpa forever ago.

The guys hung on the porch and talked music forever
Mr. Yeti Man! My favorite kitty out there at the moment, he is so adorable and lovable.
And this beautiful little kitty was one that was born away from the house and has not become tame yet, we found him hanging out in the recycling pile, so cute.
beautiful Rose, this girl is amazing, i love her mind.
Carin and Rose scouting around
They taught their dog Pachuca to ride in their jeep with them, apparently they have been trying this for a while, and were just exstatic that it finally happened! It was so funny.
Carin in her cons. She told me they were her favorites and that she has worn nothing else since she got them.
Carin, being silly with her sister, and she loves to hula hoop!
Rose reading her twilight book, she is in love with this right now
Jen Jen! I am so in love with her bright red dreads.
And she picks up my hula hoop everytime we hang out, i love it! I am so excited she wants to learn to!

More adorable kitties, these are the newest little batch

All of the photos below are ones that Jen captured. I love the way she takes pics, like I have mentioned before. And I never get pics of me just hanging out b/c Im always behind the camera, so that is always cool.

I LOVE this shot of james and the gun!!!

he is just so adorable, i must say so myself :)

This little cicada had just come out of his shell when we got there, and he just became my buddy, he crawled all over me. I loved him! I lost all of my pics of him which I was sad about b/c they were so cute, but I am so happy Jen got some of us together...

just hanging out together...

I released him onto this plant, and hoped he found a new path in life.

Violet Bella loves PPP

If you have been reading my blog enough, I think you know that Shauna from Poor Pitiful Pearl and I have a serious love for each other! And I think it just grew a little deeper :)

Check her out in her first Violet Bella outfit! I was so excited when she said she wanted this jumper!!! And a bit nervous, to be honest, coming from the sewing Queen! But she loved, and sent me these awesome hypstomatic prints! Seriously L.O.V.E.

Is she not adorable in her oh so 'real' studio! I love it. Glad to know Im not the only one who gets fabric everywhere... And we even hang our clothes the same way, so cute!

I love the one of her sitting in the chair with the measuring tape wrapped around, adorable!

And if you DONT know who she, you must go check out her shop. And if you are serious about getting the cream of the crop, you must follow her on facebook to see her updates on posting. These babies seriously sell out in a matter of seconds from when she posts, its the craziest cat fight!

PEACE,
Laura

Life at Random

A little post for the randomness of my week in photos...

My garden is looking amazing with all of this lovely rain we have been having here. I havent had to water all week! I am growing carrots for the first time, and I just couldnt help but pick one the other day just to look at it, and OMG am I glad I did! Look at how absolutely adorable that carrot is!!! Made my moment for sure!

I love watching Violet on the porch. She loves this chair so much, we pretty much named it Violet's chair. She could just sit in it forever and watch things going on outside. Alot of times I will look out the window and she will have her little paws up on the arm rest, crossed, with her chin resting on them, its the cutest thing ever! Well SHE is the cutest thing ever... She sleeps inside every night, and the second she wakes up, or we wake up I should say, she runs to the door so she can go on the porch and sit in her chair :)

My fridge at the current moment.

Sat on the porch or a bit the other day when it was raining and red a bit of my Leonard Cohen poetry book, and then was inspired to write some more myself in my beautiful book below. I love Leonard Cohen, he is such an odd, inspiring artist who passionately writes about deep intense love that exists only in his head... Amazing what an artist loneliness can make of a person.

I got a pretty new dress at goodwill and upcycled it just a bit. Now its not just pretty, it beautiful and worthy of a date, I do believe.

Probably my favorite thing from the past few weeks is that James has been playing guitar almost everyday. This makes my heart so incredibly happy. And I give credit to awesome friends who passed on a new guitar and ones that have inspired him to play more. Im very excited for him and Jonny to play more together.

And we have been doing alot of hula hooping, and yes, James has joined in on the fun, and he is so funny when he does it. He has all kinds of moves... he has a 'michael jackson' move, a 'home alone' move, an 'elvis' move... Im sure there is more Im forgetting about. He cracks me up everytime he picks up the hoop!

Ha ha, check out this one...

And yes, I hula hoop in my mumu at night, lol. I got this pink nightgown at walmart and james just about freaked when he realized I was serious about buying it. It was so funny. He was so embarassed that I was buying a mumu. Although, I dont really think it is one, but he calls it one... I happen to think its quite adorable... ha ha.

And I had a little visit with Shelley and got to play a bit with Isabel and Xavier. The two most precious babies in the whole entire world. They have a HUGE place in my heart.

Just look at this boy! Ridiculously cute.

And now, more rain... Its been everyday. I really hope it clears up a bit while Katelyn is here... Speaking of, my friend Katelyn is driving all the way from Louisianna to come stay with me! I am so excited to meet her and her beautiful little girl. We are going to have so much fun together!

Time to get my post on! A few new dresses in the shop tonite!

Laura

A New Blog for my Words.

This morning I created a new blog. Do you see the image of this book on the left sidebar? You can click on it anytime to view the blog, or you can follow it, since it is its own entity...

I have always loved writing, I used to write alot more when I was younger. Here and there it comes back to me. I was given this beautiful book by my friend Renea who turned it into a journal for me, and I have began filling the pages. And I decided to open up the book to you.

I know alot of people choose to keep their lives private. And of course, there are things I choose to keep private as well. But for the most part, I am an open book. I believe that is the only way to really connect with people. To truly get to know someone, not just the outer appearances of who you think someone is. That is not knowing them. And once you start opening up to people, you will always find similarities in trials and triumphs, all over the world, all walks of life, we are all human, and experience the same emotions.

So, for those of you who care to just read and not look at pictures... here is another side of me. A more inner side, one that truly connects with my surroundings and the unknown.

PEACE,
Laura

Diptychs

Just wanted to share two of my latest diptychs for Miss Match, I love how both of them came out...

For this one, our prompt was TRAGEDY and I was paired with the beautiful Francoise Rachez who sent me this very comical photo, so at the last minute I changed up my photo and did something so support her silly viewpoint of tragedy. And I am so glad I did, I love the way they came together.

For this one, our prompt was POWER. Upon reading this prompt I was a bit scared b/c I dont really like anything about the word power... And this one again was a last minute change up on ideas. We actually had a hard time getting our thoughts clear that week, so we both kind of just 'shot' and it came together seamlessly.
