The BIG Surprise

I am so excited to finally share my good news with you guys!

Violet Bella has just joined RED VELVET ART!!! Eeeekkk, I could not be more excited! I have been a big fan of Elsie, RVA, and all the girls, for quite some time. Their cuteness and craftyness has been a big inspiration to me to always keep going!

I am completely honored to have been chosen for their site. And Elsie asked me to model the jewelry and take some shots for the website, which I was super stoked (and a bit nervous) to do! There are the 11 necklaces to be found only at RVA, here are some of them. I made each one exclusive to their shop!

Go find them in the accessories section! And check out their blog to see the other talented artists that are joining! I am so excited for all of the shop renovations going on in RVA, online and brick & mortar style. They are living some of my dreams!

Thanks RVA for welcoming Violet Bella, xoxo.

PEACE,
Laura

Thankful

Since I am too tired tonite to take my own photo, I borrowed this beautiful one from Pink Suede Shoe. I adore it!

Honestly, at first, all I wanted to write about was how tired I was and how much was going on right now. But instead, I want to write about how thankful I am. I am so thankful for the family I have. James and I have had a crazy week with lots of silly things going on like toilets and fridges going out on us and crazy work related stuff... but it seems like anytime things go wrong, our parents have been there to pick us back up. My dad helped James figure some house stuff out while I came over sick as a dog. And then James parents came over twice, once to check out our fridge and toilet and then the next day brought us their own fridge b/c we were going to have to buy one! Talk about the sweetest best parent in laws one could ever ask for! I am so thankful to have them in our lives. And my daddy, he is always so quick to help anytime I need him.

Then I also got to spend a bit of time with my nanna and her man, and my aunt Lisa (my mom's sister), and I am always reminded of their love when I am around them. They are never short of letting me know how much they love me. I have the best family a girl could ask for. And I am super thankful.

AND... my surprise news should be coming out late tonite or sometime tomorrow!!!

PEACE,
Laura

Style Feature: Lucy Magnolia

{I have been wanting to showcase other talented artists for quite some time, so this will be an ongoing series... these are people, whom to me, portray all of the above qualities... LOVE, CREATIVITY, and of course STYLE! First runner up is....

I am so happy to have found this little gem on etsy not too long ago. I already have two of her dresses, so I can say for myself in person, they are just delightful. Each one is super unique. They are all flowy and etheral, and make you feel so pretty and girly. The sizes pretty much fit all. One I got was listed as a medium/large, but fits me a small. But I can see how it would fit all well, the bodices are usually made of very soft stretch knit fabric.

She is a college art student, so go support her visions! Her prices are way too cheap, so get one now before they go up as the demand goes up, b/c I know it will! And she is super sweet, which to me makes all the difference when buying handmade from someone!

Fall Wardrobe Sneak Peak + 5 Loves of Home

Here is a little sneak peak into Violet Bella's Fall wardrobe collection. Just the beginning! Major shop wardrobe update, hopefully today, so stay tuned!

Introducing something I hope to continue each week, is Five Loves of Home... 5 little bits of my life each week. This can be random things around my home, food I ate, things I love... basically little comforts of what I call home. Things that make me happy about my little place.

1. This vintage orange velvet swivel chair. It is one of the wooden heavy duty kinds. A rare gem stuck back in the back warehouse of a thrift store. Renea and I went thrifting in kerrville two days ago, and this was my highlight. I needed a new sewing chair badly, I was using a bench, not to comfy and not easy to move around, so this was a dream come true. And the best part, it was only $10!!!

2. I dont usually make pasta out of a box. But when I do, I love Annie's organic pasta. Not only does it taste way yummy than crappy Kraft mac n cheese, the packaging wins my heart over with cuteness. I mean come on, it has a 'rabbit' of approval (instead of a seal of approval, ha ha). Cuteness!!! And it says lots of fun things all over the box, love it!

3. Boxes of beautiful vintage trim. One of my favorite things. All of this trim is so special to me, it almost breaks my heart everytime I use it, b/c I know Im that much closer to it being gone. Most of it is one of a kind finds that are very vintage, some I have never seen before and probably wont ever again... A seriously love of mine.

4. Sending out my packages, actually makes me happy. I love putting together the final touches of my product just as much as the product itself. And I have to say, after many changes, I am so very happy with all of my paper goods that get sent out. The photo on the left was a limited thing, which I am almost out of, but gosh I think they are beautiful. The next one, was a drawing that Janel did for me, which I could not be more head over heals for!!! The next is one of my photos printed on cardstock, that I use for my little handwritten notes. And then there is the business card, which I adore. I change the images up each time I reorder, so there are only 500 of each card! And if it is a special gift, I will gift wrap it up all cute, I added a little blue feather to this one!

5. This pink bowl my dad made for me. My dad got into pottery a few years back, and he has made me a few things. We use this bowl all of the time. And I am always soooo happy when I get ot fill it with clementines. The colors are so beautiful together, it just makes me smile.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day! I am going to get ready for this huge shop update, work on my Ruche order, and a few custom orders... I sewed for 12 hours straight yesterday, so I think I am going to lay off the machine today, lol!

PEACE,
Laura

Here is a little sneak peak into the beginning of the fall collection. There will be a MAJOR wardrobe update in the shop, hopefully today, stay tuned!

Oh Deer, my new FAVORITE jumper

I woke up at 6:45 this morning, just laying there in bed, staring at the ceiling, with the desire to sew. So I decided to just get up, and start my day. I started with my first cup of coffee sitting in my chair on my porch, next to my dog, instead of at the computer like usual. Then for the second cup I got on to check emails. Does anyone else obsessively check their inbox???

Then I got to sewing. I made two dresses today, one of which was this adorable deer jumper. I began making it to sell, but fell too deeply in love with it. its a keeper! This doesnt happen often enough, I hardly have enough of my own clothes. I think this has to be my all time favorite jumper so far! I have one more matching deer embroidery, so I may make another one to sell, but slightly different.

I love the details of this one. The oversized wooden flower buttons are one of my new favorite things. I am obsessed, I think they are wayyy too adorable.
And the braided knit straps. Super cute, and stretchy, insuring the perfect fit for all, love them! Got some new pink knit today for it!

James had his health assessment at work today, so we went in to town for it. We hit up goodwill and had huge success. I found lots of fun items to work with, and all happened to be lovely fall, jewel toned colors. I love fall so much. My favorite color pallette of all time. Chocolate brown, deep teal, violet, olive green, dark mustard yellow/orange, oh gosh, love them!

Cant wait to start working on fall items for Violet Bella. Going to have to change some things up!

I added a few new pieces of clothing to the shop tonite, go check them out!

PEACE,
Laura
